Your First Visit
When you arrive, our team will help you settle in and go over your dental and medical history, along with anything you would like us to look at. Dr. Farnaz Athari will then examine your teeth and gums, take X-rays if they are needed, and give you a professional cleaning. Before you leave, she will explain what she found in plain language and answer your questions. If she recommends any treatment, she will tell you why, so you can decide what is right for you.
If You Feel Anxious
Plenty of adults feel nervous about the dentist, and there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Just let us know when you book. We offer gentle sedation options, including laughing gas, to help you stay calm and comfortable during treatment.

How the First Visit Works
Every first visit is matched to your child's age. Our youngest patients, under three, are seen sitting on a parent's lap, where they feel safest. For children three and older, we check the health of their teeth, take X-rays and do a gentle cleaning. We will also show your child how to brush properly, so good habits can start at home that same day. If any treatment is needed, it will not happen at the first visit. That appointment is all about building trust.
Getting Ready at Home
Children take their cue from the grown-ups around them, so keep the conversation about the dentist positive and simple. Instead of sharing your own worries, tell your child that the dentist is going to count their teeth. And let them know there is a treat waiting at the end.

Every child with an appointment gets to visit our prize room and choose a prize. It gives kids something to look forward to from the moment they walk in, and it means every visit ends with a smile.
Healthy Habits That Last
We recommend checkups and cleanings every six months, so we can catch small problems early and keep your child's teeth developing on track. Dr. Athari offers fluoride treatments, as well as non-fluoride options such as hydroxyapatite for families who prefer them. If your child feels nervous, we also offer gentle sedation options, including laughing gas, to keep them calm and comfortable.
